However, with this convenience comes serious challenges. Bullying, grooming, stalking and spam are an unfortunate but very real part of these services.

Once your contact information—whether a phone number or username—falls into the wrong hands, there is no way to control who can connect to you. Additionally, on most messaging platforms, your profile is publicly accessible. Changing your number or username can only serve as a temporary solution – it doesn’t prevent the same issues from resurfacing.

As a parent, I was just not willing to expose kids to these problems! Thus, Stars was born
